The Space
Designed as a personal sanctuary for a designer and her family, Designer's Home reflects a thoughtful balance between individuality and everyday living. The home is rooted in a calm, neutral palette, where soft textures, fluted panels, and clean architectural lines create a sense of quiet sophistication. Every element is intentionally placed, allowing the space to feel both curated and comfortably lived-in. Within this restrained backdrop, layers of character unfold through sculptural lighting, distinctive custom furniture, and subtle material contrasts. The design embraces openness and fluidity, ensuring that shared spaces feel inviting while still maintaining a strong visual identity. It is a home that feels warm, expressive, and deeply personal—crafted to evolve with its inhabitants.
The Ask
The brief was to design a home that reflects the designer’s personal aesthetic while also catering to the needs of her family. The vision was to create a space that is minimal yet not stark—one that carries personality, warmth, and a sense of belonging. It needed to seamlessly balance quiet elegance with moments of bold expression.
There was also a desire to incorporate subtle Indian influences without making them overt. The client wanted a home that felt contemporary and refined, yet rooted in culture through materials, textures, and details. Functionality, comfort, and longevity were key—ensuring that the home supports both everyday life and meaningful experiences.
The Result
The result is a harmonious blend of eclectic minimalism—where restraint meets expression in a seamless narrative. The living and dining spaces feel open and connected, anchored by bold elements like the rust-toned seating, while remaining grounded in a soft, cohesive palette. Contrasts in materials, textures, and forms add depth without overwhelming the design.
Across the home, handcrafted accents, curated décor, and thoughtful details introduce warmth and cultural resonance. Private spaces bring in a sense of calm through muted tones and tactile finishes, while select areas explore a more dramatic mood with deeper hues and ambient lighting. The outcome is a home that is not just visually refined, but emotionally resonant—where design becomes a reflection of both the designer and her family’s lifestyle.
