Altius is a thoughtfully planned apartment designed for a multi-generational family. The home needed to feel subtle, modern, cosy, and welcoming—while catering to diverse age groups under one roof. Planned around a minimalist philosophy, the residence is dominated by white and neutral tones, with soft pops of colour introduced through furnishings and décor. Functionality was a key driver in shaping the layout, ensuring each space serves a clear purpose while maintaining a calm and cohesive visual language.

The brief called for a soothing yet practical home that balances aesthetics with everyday usability. The client wanted a light, airy environment with a European apartment feel—achieved through mouldings, cornices, and controlled detailing—without compromising on budget. Clear zoning was required to separate private and shared areas for parents, children, and family gatherings, while still keeping the house visually connected.

The final design is an elegant, well-zoned home that flows around a centrally placed entrance, with a bright and airy veranda forming the first visual impression. The right wing of the house houses the kitchen, dining area, family room, and two bedrooms for the daughters aged 7 and 10—creating a lively yet comfortable family zone. The left wing accommodates the formal living area along with the master bedroom and parent’s bedroom, offering privacy and balance.

Ceilings were carefully designed to maximise volume and enhance openness throughout the apartment. European-style mouldings and cornices add subtle character to the walls, elevating the otherwise minimalist palette. Printed tiles in the open kitchen floor introduce contrast and personality, setting it apart from the predominantly white interiors.

Across the home, neutral tones are layered with hints of burgundy, cobalt, olive, and grey, allowing each room to develop its own story while remaining part of a unified design narrative. Ambient lighting ties the spaces together, creating a warm, serene atmosphere that reflects both functionality and refined living.
