The Space
Naren House is a calm, introspective home that quietly celebrates heritage, simplicity, and lived-in comfort. Rooted in traditional Indian aesthetics, the space is softened through the use of natural materials, earthy tones, and a gentle spatial flow. Every element—from antique brass idols and handcrafted teak panels to textured walls—feels intentional and grounded, chosen not to impress, but to belong.
The Ask
The brief was to create a home that feels authentic, timeless, and deeply personal. The client wanted a space that honours Indian cultural heritage without feeling heavy or ornamental. The design needed to allow art, materials, and everyday life to coexist naturally—where transitions are fluid, light and air move freely, and the home feels welcoming rather than curated.
The Result
The resulting home unfolds gently from one space to another through pivot doors and open transitions that invite ease, light, and ventilation. Natural textures and warm, earthy hues establish a grounded atmosphere, allowing the architecture and materials to speak softly yet meaningfully.
Art plays a central narrative role in the house—miniatures, Pichwais, and Tanjore paintings don’t merely adorn the walls but tell stories of tradition and lived memory. Nothing feels forced or showy; instead, the home achieves a quiet harmony where heritage is honoured and everyday life flows comfortably within a serene, rooted environment.
